So, this is different! How does this work?
So yeah, what we do is pretty different. Ceremony is a first-of-it’s-kind, full day wedding experience that’ll have you feeling relaxed and ready to party!
We marry award-winning wedding photography with modern hair & makeup to give you the best experience possible, and tell your story in an honest and authentic way. Matt’s photography style is centred very much around a documentary, ‘hands off’ approach, while Jess brings a slightly more editorial feel to her photos. But, that’s only after she’s done making you look and feel amazing! Yep, that’s right; Jess looks after your hair & makeup first, and then picks up a camera and takes some killer photos alongside Matt. We told you it was different!
We’re there to do our jobs, but the most important thing to us is that you have the most incredible experience on your wedding day. Keep scrolling to learn a bit more about how we do what we do.

“Matt and Jess are amazing - just book them, you don’t need to read the rest of this review. We had initially not wanted a professional photographer because we don't like being the centre of attention - SO glad my Mum made me do it! I had initially found Matt and his sense of style was our thing so we knew we wanted him - quick and easy decision! But then we found Ceremony, and I immediately thought was an ingenious offering. We had one zoom with them both and it was a no-brainer! I knew I didn’t have to worry about them as suppliers (I feel bad even referring to them as so), they were definitely “our” people.
My trial with Jess was perfect, she sussed me out straight away and we spent a really lovely afternoon together chatting about random things while she worked her magic. I’m not a hair and make-up person normally and Jess’ style was perfect - she got me and my style straight away.When the weekend finally came around, everything was flawless. No one tells you but the most time you spend with anyone during your wedding day is the person who does your hair and make up, I’m thankful that was Jess - twice! Interspersed with Matt and our game of trivial pursuit, this is perhaps one of my most precious memories of our weekend.
Not only are they amazing at their jobs (love it, love it, love it), they’re just really lovely people. We didn't want to be the centre of attention, and they didn’t make us so. We wanted an awesome story through photos of the weekend, we got that plus some. And with Jess you’re in safe hands ,I can’t praise her enough.
If you’re doing slightly different things, a bit outside of the box, and really if you’re not - Matt and Jess are just brilliant humans, and they’ll take it all off your shoulders. I really appreciate what both of them did for us in an event where we didn’t know what we were doing.
Matt keep doing what you’re doing - you’re so good and I love it. Jess - you, my dear are so talented and I loved spending so much time with you. You made me look and feel amazing, which I’ve never had before.

IT’S GREAT TO MEET YOU!
We’re a Husband & Wife team and founders of Ceremony. Although, it’s not always been called that. We first tested out this idea back in 2015, and have been refining it ever since. We have a huge passion for what we do, but the ‘what’ isn’t the only thing. The big thing for us is how we can make you feel.
Yes, we know that sounds super-cheesy, but it’s true! We realise and understand that choosing the people to spend the day with you and deliver a collection of memories that will last a lifetime is a really big deal and a very personal thing. We also understand how important it is to spend your day with people who ‘get you’, who click with your friends and family, who feel like they’re as much a part of it as everyone else, and who you really enjoy being around. In short, having people you trust. Finding people who will work their backsides off to make sure you have the best day imaginable is a toughie. But don’t worry, you’ve found them!
Ceremony is now a unique wedding experience that combines award-winning documentary photography with luxury hair & makeup, for modern couples. It is the culmination for not only our love for what we do, but who we do this with. This is your ticket to a day devoid of stress and full of love, emotion and fun!

OUR APPROACH
Honestly, it’s a pretty simple one. We want you to have the best day imaginable! Yeah, we know that’s a big call, but it’s true. You have spent all of this time, energy and effort (and money) planning this dreamy day with your nearest and dearest, so we want you to be able to live that day. Our priority for you both is a simple one: we want you to have as much time as is humanly possible with everyone else you’ve asked to be there with you! Simple as that.
Listen, we’ve all been to those weddings as guests haven’t we! You know the one’s right? You watch the couple get married, throw some confetti over them as they walk out, and then stand around for ages with a drink and a canapé or two, while they’re off shooting endless combinations of group photos and being schlepped around the venue for an hour on a photoshoot! Right?
Well, we don’t do that!
Those chunks of the day are nice and quick, so you can just spend your day hugging, kissing, laughing and crying with everyone who means the world to you. That makes for a better experience, and it sure as hell makes for better photos! Put another way, it’s not our right to dictate your experience of your own wedding day. We’re there to help, guide, reassure and to just get stuck in.
We make sure we’re a really fun and positive element to your day. Emotion and connection is the thing that makes epic photos and an epic experience. That’s what we use to tell the story of your day, and that’s what you’ll have with us. That’s our currency. You’ll have gathered already that we’re not really ‘traditionalists’ when it comes to weddings. We make our photos from right in the mix with you, because then, whoever is viewing the photos after the event, whether they were there or not, will be able to look at them and feel like they were right there with you, in that moment, feeling everything you were.

Pricing & Extras
We do book a limited number of weddings every year, so we can give everything we’ve got to each of our couples. Choosing the right people to be a part of this experience with you is a really big deal and a very personal choice, so we want to make this as easy as possible for you.
One thing we’ve always hated is feeling like we’re being sold to. Know what we mean? So, in the interest of keeping things simple (for you and us), we offer one core package, with a handful of ‘bolt-ons’ so you can pick the right one for you. Each one contains everything listed below. No hidden extras, no complications, no sales pitch, just one awesome experience.

Pre-Wedding Day
Initial Consultation - As many chats as needed for you to feel happy and confident that we are the right people for you
Bride(s) Hair & Makeup Trial - this will be held at Jess' relaxing garden studio here in Whitstable (if you’re UK based) or if you’re not based in the UK we can figure out a location in the days leading up to your wedding.

Wedding Day // Hair & Makeup
Bride(s) Hair & Makeup - Let’s start the day right – Jess will be a warm and welcoming presence on the morning of, there to get you ready for the big moment. If you’ve got a bridal party and you want to pamper them too, we have bolt-on’s below that include your bridal party.
Unlimited Touch-up’s - The kit’s not gone for good! These touch-up’s are designed to be quick, so Jess won't be pulling you away from your day. It’s normally a quick touch of lippy and a re-powder before the all-important portraits and post speeches.
Evening Hair & Makeup Change - Want a stunning new hair & makeup look to take you into the evening celebrations? Or maybe you just want a touch-up to your existing look? From brushed out waves to glam ponytails, we can make a quick change that will have you ready to party the night away.

Wedding Day // Photography
All-Day Coverage - Up to 12hrs with Matt. Our award-winning documentary photography style captures moments as they happen, both big and small, because your day is about so much more than just exchanging rings and cutting your cake. So, we’re there to capture it all.
Photography by Jess - Yep! Once Jess is done making you look and feel amazing, she puts down most of her makeup kit and picks up a camera to shoot the rest of the day with Matt. But don’t worry, it’s not gone for good.
